RENTAL PROGRAM FACTS: Spring Semester Rentals will be available beginning December 21, 2015.
The YSU Bookstore offers most current semester textbooks for rent. Textbooks are defined as physical copies of books. Items not defined as a textbook include course packets, access codes, and clickers. Rentals offer students another option to save money on their textbook costs by providing immediate upfront savings.
Students opting to rent must complete a Rental Agreement at the register that includes:
I understand the last date to receive a REFUND for a rental follows the same policy as purchases, without any exception per our REFUND POLICY.
I agree that the rented book remains the property of the YSU Bookstore and will be RETURNED in ORIGINAL condition (no tears, water damage, or excessive markings and with all components). Rentals may only be returned during our book buyback sessions, even if I ship it to the store, which is no more than 1 day after the end of the semester date. I will be required to pay for a REPLACEMENT book PLUS a PENALTY if not returned in the original condition or if lost or stolen while in my possession. I authorize the bookstore to charge my credit card for Replacement Cost (Current Retail-Rental Price) PLUS a $15 PENALTY. Any prior book damage MUST BE NOTED in the comment field of the agreement prior to renting the book.
I understand the YSU Bookstore is an institutional store and my account and grades will be placed on hold with the University if I do not abide by this agreement.
