Students in this program develop the expertise to improve the lives and outcomes of students with disabilities from birth through adulthood. We offer several options for graduate students interested in working with children and youth with disabilities and their families. Students with a variety of undergraduate backgrounds are encouraged to apply for the program, in which you can earn your special education certification or endorsement.
Our world-renowned faculty provides cutting-edge knowledge in evidence-based practices, and all students are given guided opportunities to apply this knowledge in various settings, including early childhood programs, public schools, and through research experiences in one of our research and outreach units.

Special Education Study Options:
We offer a Ph.D. program for students who are interested in earning a Doctorate in Special Education. This program prepares individuals for research and teaching positions in higher education, research positions with private foundations, administrative positions in school districts and other state educational agencies, and consultation positions in professional education.
