Also known as Alabama Southern, this community college was founded in 1991 when Patrick Henry Junior College and Hobson State Technical College merged. There campuses in Thomasville, Monroeville, Gilbertotown, Demopolis, and Jackson in AZ.

Often referred to as CACC, this community college was established in the year 1989 by no less than the Alabama State Board of Education. Two schools consolidated Nunnelley State Technical College and The Alexander City State Junior College to form what is now CACC.

Southern Union State Community College

This is a two-year, public college situated in Wadley, AL. Established in 1993, the school started with merely 51 students in a single building. But their population steadily grew each year and now, their technical, education and health science divisions are brimming with learners.

The Health Sciences division offers Emergency Medical Services, Practical Nursing, Registered Nursing, Surgical Technology, to name a few.

Practical Nursing, in particular, can be studied at the Wadley campus while the Associate s Degree in Nursing is primarily offered at the Opelika campus.
