About the School
School of Management and Marketing
The School of Management and Marketing is a multi-campus school with staff and students on each of the University’s main campuses: Albury-Wodonga; Bathurst; and Wagga Wagga. The School also has many online students from across Australia as well as internationally located.
Academic staff within the School teach and research in the discipline areas of Management and Marketing and many have extensive business and practical workplace experience that informs their teaching and research.
We seek to nurture a culture of excellence in teaching, research and professional practice. With a strong focus on quality work-integrated learning and teaching, the School seeks to produce graduates who are highly knowledgeable, insightful, reflective, ethical and workplace capable. The School offers generalist business courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including the Bachelor of Business Studies and the Master of Business Administration (with specialisations). We also offer specialist courses that build core knowledge and skills in particular discipline areas such as Management, Leadership, Organisational Change, Strategy, Human Resource Management and Marketing. Staff in the School are also actively engaged in research and higher degree supervision. Research from our marketing staff has been ranked as internationally significant by Excellence in Research Australia.
For each 8 point subject at CSU, students should normally expect to spend between 140-160 hours engaged in the specified learning and assessment activities (such as attending lectures or residential schools, assigned readings, tutorial assistance, individual or group research/study, forum activity, workplace learning, assignments or examinations). The student workload for some subjects may vary from these norms as a result of approved course design.
Students will be assessed on the basis of completed assignments, examinations, workplace learning, or other methods as outlined in specific subject outlines.
Where applicable, students are responsible for travel and accommodation costs involved in workplace learning experiences, or attending residential schools (distance education students).
Expectations relating to academic, workplace learning, time and cost requirements for specific subjects are provided in the subject abstracts and in course materials.
Throughout their studies, CSU students have a responsibility to continue to develop skills in English Language, literacy and numeracy as appropriate to their discipline. This ongoing development will enable students to effectively participate in their course and graduate as competent professionals.
