Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Accelerating toward Success (ABSN Program)

If you already hold a bachelor s degree in another major, our accelerated second degree bachelor s program (ABSN) provides the opportunity to earn a B.S. in Nursing through 16-months of rigorous study.

You build on the knowledge you gained in your previous degree program and engage immediately in Nursing content starting during UNE s winter term. Throughout the next 16 months, you are immersed in Nursing coursework and clinical experiences that emphasize clinical reasoning and judgment, understanding health and human functioning, expertise in care and therapeutics, and knowledge of health care resources.

Our nursing skill laboratories simulate clinical experiences, preparing you to engage with patients in a variety of hospital and community settings where you apply theoretical knowledge to nursing practice. In caring for diverse populations and working beside established health professionals, you enhance your understanding of the theory underlying clinical care and gain the confidence that comes from meeting patients needs.

Upon successful completion of the program, you receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and become eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX).
